Come walk with me through Wildflower Woods Cabin...

It won't take but a few minutes to walk down the pathway
to the cabin beside the lake...

Wildflower Woods Cabin

Gene's wonderful kitchen

The original old ice box
discovered behind a wall
which would be kept cold from ice blocks
cut from the frozen Lake Sylvan...
or the ice man
Gene Stratton Porter
had her own dark room
where she developed her own photographs.
She said her secret ingredient was
Indiana water!

and her own planting room,
one with a beautiful view of the lake

"Puddin' " stone fireplace
in the library/study

Gene would write in this room
& her secretary would type out her written scripts
from the original desk in the corner

Family Photos
& another stone fireplace
Friends were invited to bring a favorite stone
to add to this fireplace front
The Million Dollar Window...
named this because of the view
& because of the expense for such a large windw
at the time the home was built
The Dining Room

Gene doing what she loved best

Now, go grab & book & curl up in a corner & enjoy!
