Shirley...

Shirley Dunn underwent open heart surgery at 6 a.m. today. She had a successful triple bypass and around noon was taken back to her room. We heard that she waved to her family as they wheeled her down the hall! I'm sure the Dunn's were thrilled to see her responding to her family.

Keep Shirley in your prayers. If you have experienced open heart surgery or have loved ones that have, you know it can be a difficult recovery. We are praying that Shirley is up and racing down the hallways soon!!! .... ( I remember my Dad hating it when his nurse made him hug his "heart" pillow & cough!)

Thanks for your prayers. She is at St. Francis Indianapolis Heart Center at Greenwood.

Glad Shirley came through surgery without much difficulty. I'll never forget the look on Dad's face when he would hug that "heart" pillow and cough. I'm pretty sure he HATED that incentive spirometer. ; )

Just got home from PA and NJ and checked your blog, only learn about Shirley. I'm glad you posted it so that we could know about her and pray for her.

Be sure and look at my comment under your post about Bob's piano playing.

Steve...Thanks for the nice post about Bob. Yes...I remember you quickly teaching him a chorus or song just before church. By the way...we seldom sing "rounds" anymore. Just isn't the same without you! :)

Shirley's surgery was pretty sudden. She knew something was wrong & had recently had tests & went yesterday for angiogram...or something. They would'n't let her leave the hospital. She had 90% blockage in 2 arteries & 70% in another. He doctor told her she was lucky she made it there! I do believe her angels were surrounding her.
